I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Several sentences are repeated and at times it’s easy to tell the audio was not recorded in one go as the breaks are clear and the volume changes dramatically no just between chapters but also within the chapter. He’s almost twice her age, so he stays in the shadows, intent on manipulating circumstances behind the scenes to protect her and give her a better life. One look into her innocent hazel eyes, and he’s a goner. He’s a workaholic who doesn’t have time for women or anythinguntil he sees Maddie. The narrator was very good, specially by changing her voice depending on which character she was voicing but the editing is not great. Hunter is a billionaire who’s known for his surly, no-nonsense attitude. Falling in love with her boss was never her end goal but she can’t stop the feels. Maddie is 18 and alone in the world working in a seedy hotel but when the opportunity to move someplace better comes along she doesn’t think twice and grabs it. Hunter falls madly in love with Maddie when he sees her in the street and moves the world to get her to work for him so he can keep an eye on her. This is a short story but we get enough background on the characters that it doesn’t feel like we are missing anything. Another great stalker billionaire romance from Emma Bray.
